Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. The actress is second youngest winner in Oscar the history of Oscars. Anna Paquin's full title is Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was an Canadian born New Zealand actress. As as a young girl, she was awarded the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the talkative and inquisitive girl of Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) was the reason she won the award. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of a muffled Scottish pianist, who in the middle of 19th century, moves back to New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition for open casting at the age of nine. She was old, and had no previous experience as an actor. As a teenager she emigrated from New Zealand to United States. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was a child in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and an important role in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. Also, she played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). She also was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
