Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host as well as the owner and editor of The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England aged 16 where she received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. Following graduation, she left her name as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate as well as with the introduction of The Huffington Post' few years later she created a voice-based website that provided critical views about the current political climate. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna became famous when she ran in California's recall vote, to succeed Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit initiative to promote fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their top 100 list in the year 2010. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many then-existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father it was her bond with her mother that formed her life. At an early age, she demonstrated leadership skills which are still widely admired. When she was 16, she moved from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college, where she was the first woman to serve as the president. In 1972 she graduated with the degree of master's in Economics. She was a journalist as well as a host on TV and columnist upon her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
