Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she relocated to England at the age of 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After graduation she made her mark as an editorialist for the conservative syndicate and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which provided critical views on the political scenario. Her fame helped to attract several well-known contributors for posting their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna became famous when she ran in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes named her as one of the "most influential women" within the field of media and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of 100 top media personalities in 2009. AOL Inc. named her president of their media company in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as a journalist. They were very close to her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother that has shaped her. Even as a young girl, she showed leadership traits that she's still known for. at the age of 16 she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In college, she was a member of the Cambridge Union, a college debate club. The third female president and first foreigner, she was the president of the Cambridge Union. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. Following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic as well as a TV host. Additionally, she starred with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
